Dr. Wolfgang Viertl-Strasser attended the Higher Technical Education Institute (HTL) for production engineering and mechanical engineering (specialising in plastics technology), then studied chemistry at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He wrote his master thesis on cobalt and nickel catalysts for hydrogen production through artificial photosynthesis. As part of his PhD thesis and research activities as a senior lecturer in homogeneous catalysis, he focused on the use and mechanisms of action of proton relays for photocatalytic water splitting. This work has resulted in several publications in internationally renowned journals. Dr Wolfgang Viertl-Strasser joined the firm as a patent attorney trainee in 2021 and is currently completing his training as a European patent attorney.
